JACK SCHARF
Jack served as vice president of quality and outcomes management for the Atlantic Health System in New Jersey. He was responsible for directing the activities and initiatives of the Atlantic Health System Quality Institute and supervised the quality improvement staff at each of Atlantic’s four hospitals. Previously, he served as vice president for administration and quality management for Overlook Hospital and executive vice president of Overlook Management Corporation.
As vice president of the Atlantic Quality Institute, Jack directed a system-wide initiative to develop a culture of safety through the innovative use of storytelling and the use of video re-enactments of actual medical errors. The Atlantic Quality Institute was awarded a major grant from the Healthcare Foundation of New Jersey for further development of this cultural transformation project.
Jack attended Cathedral College of the Immaculate Conception, where he earned a B.A. degree. He also has earned an M.A. in Philosophy from Ohio State University and an MBA from Seton Hall University. Jack is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) and is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ)
